Children’s Lessons

Centennial Pool, in collaboration with the Lifesaving Society of Nova Scotia. CURRENTLY WE ARE UNABLE TO OFFER ANY CHILDREN SWIM LESSONS, PLEASE CHECK BACK FOR THE FALL SESSION.

Parent & Tot

Description: This program is for parents and children 4mos old to 3 years old. The class aims to get tots used to the water.

Cost: $60.00 (not taxed)


Description: For children 3-5 years of age. Levels below.

Cost: $60.00 (not taxed)

Level 1
For children who are just starting out on their own, and children who can get in & out of the water alone.

Level 2&3
For children who can get in & out of the water by themselves, jump into chest-deep water, submerge and exhale underwater, and float on front and back.

Levels 4&5
For children who can jump into deep water wearing a PFD recover objects from the bottom, hold their breath, swim front crawl 3-5m, and do flutter kick on their front, back, and side



Description: For children 5-12 years of age. Levels below.

Swimmer 1
For children aged 5-12 that are just starting out

Swimmer 2
For children who can jump into the water with and without a PFD, float, kick and glide on their front and back, open eyes and exhale underwater

Swimmer 3
For children who can jump into the deep end, support self at surface without aid, swim 10-15m on front and back.

Swimmer 4
For children who can complete the Canadian Swim to Survive Standard – Roll-Tread (1 minute) – Swim (50m), handstands and kneeling dives, and whip kick on their back.

Swimmer 5
For children who can do dives, swim underwater and treat water for 2 minutes.

Swimmer 6
For children who can do shallow dives & cannonballs; stationary eggbeater kick, 50m of front and back crawl.
